Host: So tell us about this whole deal with Taylor Swift? You jumped up on stage with her at the Nokia Center?
John: You make it sound like I wasn’t invited. I just jumped on stage. Reached security. I punched a giant bald man in the throat.
Host: And you guys have become pretty close friends now right?
John: I would not say close friends in the sense that like we are having picnics and running around. She came in to the studio to sing on this song, “Half of My Heart,” which I’m so proud and happy that she wanted to do it and she’s fantastic. Taylor you have to know is one of these stars, I’m sure you’ve met them and they are very few and far between, just one of these stars that doesn’t have anything to do with modern day technology or opportunity. Take American Idol out of the equation, take the internet out, take everything out. She would have been a star any way. She’s just this strange, in all the beautiful ways, just doesn’t really belong to this universe type person. She’s just that good.
Host: And it just seems like there’s something about her that you can’t resist, you know?
John: She’s one of the hardest working people because I’ve produced people before and had people behind the microphone and just so you know when people come in to sing on something or you’re asking somebody to like really aspire to this thing in your head, you normally get about two or three chances before they give up and there’s something about Taylor. She just kept going “Alright, cool,” and I all of a sudden realized that I didn’t have to come up with new ways to say try it again and I could just be like this “One more time.” She’d be like “Cool.” She was so engaged and I’m like this woman was like ageless and then I turn around and at some point I’m like “hey what do you think-” and she’s just drawing, scribbling this beautiful little picture like a child in the corner. She’s like an angel, a pixie.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
This year I am thankful for my health, the health of my family and friends, the fact that I have a job in this economy, and all the little blessings I receive each day. They are never ignored and I am always eternally grateful.

I went to the last show of Katy Perry’s California Dreams Tour tonight in Los Angeles. It was a-mazing. When you have a great album like she has right now, the concert just has to be good.
Every number was fun and bright and had a theme to it. She also sounded so amazing live. Her voice is stronger than ever. I’m so happy I got to see this tour because I’ve loved this album since it first came out.
My favorite performances would definitely be Circle The Drain, The One That Got Away, Hot and Cold, and Firework. She’s so cute and charming and talented and deserves every bit of success she is getting right now.
