SORRY FOLLOWERS BUT WHEN IT’S TAYLOR SWIFT NEW MUSIC TIME….I POST A LOT ABOUT HER. 🙂 – TESS
It’s official: Taylor Swift has set the record for the biggest digital sales week ever for a song by a woman. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” sold 623,000 in the week ending Aug. 19 — according to Nielsen SoundScan — and it thus debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart.
Not only is it the best week ever for a woman, but the second-largest ever overall. Only Flo Rida’s “Right Round” has sold more in a week, when it debuted at No. 1 with 636,000 on the Digital Songs chart dated Feb. 28, 2009.
The previous high-water mark among female acts was Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK,” which moved 610,000 on the chart dated Jan. 9, 2010 (reflecting the busy post-Christmas week of 2009). Swift also nets the largest debut week among women, shattering the 448,000-unit start that was logged by Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” (Feb. 26, 2011). (“Born This Way” racked up that figure after only three days on sale — it bowed Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 and the SoundScan tracking week ends on Sunday of each week. Swift’s song starts with a little over six days’ worth of sales.)
As for Swift herself, her best previous sales week was racked by “Love Story,” which sold 360,000 over Christmas 2008 (Digital Songs chart dated Jan. 10, 2009). Her highest debut week came with “Today Was a Fairytale,” which sold 325,000 on the Feb. 6, 2010 chart.
Here is a look at the 10 top overall digital sales weeks, since SoundScan began tracking digital sales:

As noted above, four of the top 10 largest weeks have been registered in 2012: Swift, Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” and the debuts of Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” and Maroon 5’s “Payphone.”
Swift’s new single is the lead track from her upcoming fourth studio album, “Red,” due out Oct. 22 on Big Machine Records. The song already crashed onto a number of Billboard’s airplay charts this past Monday, debuting within the top 20 on the Pop Songs, Adult Pop Songs, Country Songs and Adult Contemporary charts.
It’s expected that tomorrow, on the all-format Billboard Hot 100 chart, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” will make a huge jump up the tally. It debuted last week at No. 72 owed to airplay only.

The Style Network started playing old episodes of Gossip Girl tonight and will show reruns every Wednesday night from the beginning!!
I started watching tonight as I cleaned my apartment and I’m just completely drawn in again!! It’s soooo good. Especially season 1. Omg so freaking good. I love this show. I just can’t get enough of it. Even though I’ve seen every single episode already. haha
I forgot about how cute Dan and Serena were together in the beginning. And how funny Chuck looked..and how Jenny was such an innocent but vital character to the show. Let’s be real…I’m going to tune in on Wednesday nights and watch them all over again. Thank you Style Network!!

Taylor Swift’s new single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is selling much faster than initially thought. Industry sources now suggest the track — released late on Monday, Aug. 13 — will probably easily move more than 500,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Aug. 19. It even has a pretty decent shot of surpassing the 600,000 mark.
Yesterday, forecasters were suggesting it would launch with 400,000 to 500,000. But, once sources saw how well it was already selling, it blew all projections out of the water.
If it surpasses 448,000, it will earn the largest debut for a digital song by a woman in history. Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” holds the current feat among female acts, when it launched at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart with 448,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Meanwhile, on today’s new Billboard Hot 100 chart, the song makes a, well, Swift start, debuting at No. 72 after less than two days in release. The full Hot 100 chart will refresh on Billboard.com on Thursday, Aug. 16.
It arrives after being released to digital retailers and radio only late Monday (Aug. 13), with its first two days of airplay accounting for a No. 25 start on Radio Songs (40 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS). As previously reported, that’s the best bow for a new song by a country act in the Radio Songs chart’s 21-year history.
The song should make a dramatic jump towards the top of next week’s Hot 100 after logging a full first week of sales and airplay.

Universal Studios announced that they will be dropping Kristen Stewart from the follow up movie to “Snow White & The Huntsman.” Instead of doing a a sequel to the movie, they’re going to take a different approach and do more of a spinoff and focus on Chris Hemsworth’s character as a sexy huntsman.
This is pretty shocking news but I’m not going to lie, I’m okay with it. Chris Hemsworth and all his beauty made the movie bearable and I’m sure most of us would rather just see more of him anyway! Poor KStew… could this be the end of her career?? Universal better not allow Rupert Sanders to direct it because if they’re getting rid of Kristen Stewart they BEST get rid of him too.
