So I went out Friday night with a couple friends for a bday party at the Den on Sunset. I met a guy who I wasn’t super attracted to but he was decently cute.
I had ordered a fruity martini called a Starburst because the bday girl had recommended it. It was bright orange and tasted like grapefruit and vodka. As I sat down with my drink, this guy, let’s call him Jose, starts talking to me about my drink. He starts going off about how sugary it looks and how it just “cant possibly taste good”. I laughed it off and we started discussing our lives like where we live, where we’re from, and what we do for work.
About 10 minutes went by and he asked me if I was ready for a real drink yet. Seeing an opportunity to get a free drink, I nodded and he said “Let’s go.” So off to the bar we went.
He bought me a drink and we continued to talk and get to know one another better. As I stood there talking sports, work, and past relationships with this guy, I looked at him and did what I think every single girl does…decide if he is marriage material or not. I so badly wanted him to be…any time I can sense that a guy is into me I so badly want to be into him in return. This was my thought process:
1.) Looks – 6.5
2.) Style – 6
3.) Personality – 8
4.) Face- 6.5
5.) Potential – 3
As soon as I decide in my mind that the potential for a guy is below a 6… I completely lose interest and put him in the friend zone. I’m sure he was confused to how I went from being completely interested to politely ignoring him the rest of the night. But I’m just a firm believer in not leading anyone on or wasting my time. 🙂
