Do you guys remember that movie Monkey Trouble?

That was seriously one of my FAVORITE movies as a kid. I probably watched it a thousand times, I loved it so much. I can’t believe I forgot about it and probably haven’t seen it in 15+ years!

Cat and Grandma

kittehkats:

Misao and Fukumaru.  “We will never be apart.”

12 years ago, Japanese photographer, Miyoko Ihara (伊原 美代子) started to take photographs of her grandmother, Misao. Born in 1981 in Chiba (Japan), Miyoko Ihara has studied under Kenji Higuchi (樋口健二), after graduating from the Press Photography Course at the Nippon Photography Institute in 2002. Miyoko is also a member of The Photographic Society of Japan.”

“Under the sun, everyday is a good day. Another good day, Fukumaru”, Misao. Eight years ago, Misao found a odd-eyed kitten in the shed. She named the cat “Fukumaru” in hope that “God of fuku” (good fortune) comes and everything will be smoothed like a “maru” (circle)”.

“We’ll never be apart!”, says Misao to Fukumaru. Both of them live in a tiny world, with dignity, with mutual love. Still today, under the blue sky, Misao and Fukumaro work in the fields and in these natural surroundings, where they shine like the stars.”

President Obama Re-elected!

President Obama re-elected as President of the United States!!

I remember 4 years ago when Obama was elected our President for the first time and I had just moved to Los Angeles. I sat in my Hollywood apartment with my best friend/roommate and my cat and we watched the results roll in. It was such an exciting time because not only was he the first African American president but our nation was so over George W. Bush and we were all looking for something new and hopeful.

Now 4 years later at 27 years old I get to watch Obama win again! It’s a happy feeling to be an Obama supporter and get to celebrate in victory tonight.

It Hit Me He’s Gone…

My first weekend not having him around me and I’m not going to lie… it was difficult. I didnt even realize it at first. Going about my Saturday with my friends, having a good time. But something just felt off. I couldnt figure it out, wasnt sure why I didn’t feel like myself.

And then around 9pm I realized… I was missing him. As tears streamed down my face I realized I was sad and I was back to being alone and single. To be close with someone for months, then in one second for them to be gone, out of your life and across the country is difficult. No one should have to go through that. It wasn’t fair for him to be that close to me and then just leave the way he did. I knew it was coming… but the emptiness I wasn’t expecting.

I’ll be fine… I’m not worried. My mom told me to focus on the bad parts about him and stop only thinking of the good and she is absolutely right. So I’m going to try my best to do that… and move on.
