I am SOOOO excited to move into my new apartment in Marina Del Rey!! It’s going to be the start of a new me! We have a gym at the complex so my new goal is to wake up every morning at about 6:30am and hit the gym before work. Also the complex offers workout classes at 6:30pm every night so I plan to head home after work and try to hit up those classes as well.

I’ve gotten lazy and fat and I need to start taking better care of myself. I plan on getting a beach cruiser so I can ride my bike to the beach on the weekends as well. There’s no more excuses!! New active lifestyle starts now.

Valentines Day

Ohhhhhh Valentines Day…the one day of the year where as a single girl you REALLY feel the pang of being single. Such a stupid holiday. And I’m not just saying that because I’m bitter and single… okay maybe I am.

Just kidding…it’s fine. I guess couples should have one day out of the year to be required to give gifts and express how much their significant other means to them. I’m sure it’s all very warm and fuzzy feeling.

I spent Valentines Day this year with an ex. Not an official ex but with a guy I used to date years ago. And it was honestly a really fun evening. I remembered why I had fallen for him back in the day. Just his subtle sense of humor and how he could always make me laugh. And the fact that he’s completely my type. It was nice sharing the day with someone even if it was all very casual.

I stayed very far away from the spirit of VDay this year. It helped that I didnt have to walk around campus and see all the decorations and girls carrying around flowers from their boyfriends. And I also didn’t have to be at work seeing flowers and chocolates being delivered to the other woman. The day didn’t even phase me, thankfully.

I hope my fellow single girls out there didn’t get too depressed over it. The 24 hour Single Awareness Day is over and we can all go back to living our fabulous lives and not think twice about it.

Pay It Forward

Last night I was at Townhouse in Venice to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I was standing by the bar, sipping on my redbull vodka while my other friends got their drinks. All of a sudden this girl at the bar turned to me and asked “What are you drinking?” I told her and she nodded then turned back around. It was odd…but I could tell this girl was at about a 8 1/2 already on a scale of 1-10 …10 being completely hammered. Well next thing I know she turns around and hands me a cosmopolitan martini. She said “Here, from one girl to another.” then went on her merry way.

How awesome is that?? A random girl buying another random girl a drink??? That NEVER happens. As I was thinking about this today, I thought it might be cool to buy some random girl a drink at the bar sometime. My 20-something year old version of paying it forward. haha Could you imagine if this continued to happen and more girls just did this for one another? There’d be no more cat fights and girls just may start to like each other more. Peace on earth!

I’m a sucker for The Bachelor on ABC. I watch it with total annoyance and embarrassment when I see how everyone acts…and a part of me strongly believes the show isn’t real at all. But I find myself watching it every season. Oops. :-/

Anywhoo..this season they brought back a past bachelor – Brad Womack. This guy is completely annoying. He’s good looking but he’s sooooo lame and boring and fake that it takes away any attractiveness about him. On his first season he left both girls at the alter and didnt ask either of them to marry him. Now he’s back to have another shot at love.

Well I have a very strong feeling that when he proposes to the final girl this season…the girl will say no and leave him alone and heartbroken. Bet me a million dollars. It’s so obvious how ABC plays this show these days.

Here’s To A New Year!!

Oh yes….the beginning of a new year. Where all you feel is hope that this year will be better than the last. I love a new year. It makes me feel refreshed, inspired, motivated, hopeful…

I never follow my New Years resolutions and it’s kind of sad because if I did…I’d probably be in a much better place in my life. So this year…2011…I’m REALLY going to try. My resolutions for 2011 are (in no particular order):

1.) Instead of stopping at the gas station every other day and putting only $10 in the tank, I am going to start filling my tank! Yes…I said it…I am. I feel like I’m not spending as much if I just put $10 here or there…but let’s face it. Whether I spend $10 on Monday and $10 on Wednesday…if I just put in $20 on Sunday… it’d go a lot further.

2.) Make myself go to the gym at least 3 times a week. I hate it….but I have to do it. There is no reason that I should be so lazy. I’m young, healthy, in my 20s…if I can’t make myself go to the gym now..there is no hope for my future.

3.) Learn to cook.

4.) Put at least 10% of each paycheck in my savings account.

5.) Stop going out to the bars so much and really come up with some new hobbies

6.) Stop expecting it so I can find a great boyfriend. Everyone says “it’ll happen when you least expect it.” Okay, but what do you do if you’re ALWAYS expecting it??

7.) Study really hard in my accounting classes to come. No more half-assing it.

Now, are those not the best resolutions? They can only lead to a happy life! I’ll be skinny, in a relationship, money in my savings, A’s on all my tests which can only lead to a more successful future, and a full tank of gas at all times. Bingo!

Here’s to 2011 ! I’m truly looking forward to it.

Pet Peeves

Pet Peeve #1- I hate when entertainment tv shows quote celebrities’ tweets like they are really important information. Don’t they realize how lame they sound?? Like today I was watching E! News and they said “Kim Kardashian had a great Christmas. She tweeted-‘Best Christmas gift of all, little Mason said Kim’”. Ummm is that really worthy of talking about on a tv show?!?!

Pet Peeve #2- When celebrities tweet then ask a question right after just so they can get @replies. For example: “I just made mashed potatoes for dinner. What are your favorite dishes to make??”  It’s SO obvious. They should just say what they want to say and if people feel like replying to them, they will. They shouldn’t have to beg for it.

Wow…check out that storm. This pic is insane.

The clouds over Los Angeles right now.

What Kind of Christmas Shopper Are You?

I discovered I fall into the same category every year when it comes to my Christmas shopping habits. No matter what I tell myself, or how prepared I try to be, I am always Christmas shopping at the very last minute. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Just kidding…I so wish I could be like those people who start Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving and by December 1st they’re already done. THAT would be awesome. But no, I wait until I have exactly 7 days left until Christmas day. I even remember one year shopping at K-mart Christmas eve just to get last minute gifts. That was not fun.

My family is EXTREMELY hard to shop for. My parents don’t enjoy normal gifts such as the latest technology, the new york times best selling books, or even a nice sweater or scarf. It causes me to try to be very creative. And by creative I mean I found myself in Barnes and Noble searching for a “Grandpa’s are Great” book to send to my G-pa. No suck luck.

I always spend way too much money and go way overboard when it comes to gifts for my family. But you know what…I honestly don’t mind. Nothing gives me more joy than seeing my parents sitting there on Christmas morning with loads of gifts in front of them. If they’re happy, I’m happy.

So happy holidays! Hopefully your Christmas shopping is done and you have a wonderful holiday! We’re only 5 days away!

Excited for the New Year!

It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in the lunch room at work telling my co-workers what my new years resolutions for 2010 were going to be.

1) Lose 10 lbs

2) Find a boyfrirend

Well… let’s just say I suck at keeping New Years Resolutions. BUT I am super super excited for 2011!! It’s new, it’s fresh, and it gives me another shot of becoming the person I want to be. I’m not going to list my resolutions quite yet…I’ll wait until the 1st of the year…but I am very stoked to say goodbye 2010 and hello to 2011!
