The Single Life/Love Stories | Tess Explains It All

I debated with myself this afternoon if I wanted to walk over to Coffee Bean or not. This is a daily debate I have almost every day. To spend the $4, or to not spend the $4?…that is the question.

I said eff it and I walked over. I was glad I did because it’s a BEAUTIFUL day out in Beverly Hills right now. The sun is shining, clear skys…but its not too hot. Just perfect.

As I was walking back with my iced cappuccino in hand, I noticed a service truck creep up next to me. I looked over and there was some guy driving smiling at me. He said “Hi! How are you?” and I smiled back (because I am a nice person) “Hello! How are you?” Then he proceeds to ask me if he can talk to me for a second. In which I reply “Sorry I have to get back to work.” Then he keeps talking but sure enough there is a lawn mower guy blowing leaves around next to me so I cant hear a word this guy is saying. I probably asked “what?” 7 times before I finally heard him.

“Would you like to go on a lunch date with me sometime?” -asked this guy, wearing an orange jump suit, driving a Beverly Hills service truck.
Always trying to be on my toes I quickly replied “Oh um… I have a boyfriend. So that probably wouldnt go over well.”
He said “You do??? Oh man.” and drove off.

Props to this guy for asking a random girl walking down the street if she would like to go to lunch sometime. I hang out with guys in far more appropriate situations who never get the balls to ask me out.

Oh boy…. tomorrow is the day I go to Scottsdale Arizona for the first time ever! I have NO idea what to expect. I’m flying solo from LA to AZ then meeting up with my friend there. I’m assuming we will then be picked up by her boy…head to his house…drop our stuff off then head out on the town! Can’t wait to see what this city is like!

Agenda for tomorrow:
7:00 wake up, get ready for work, finish packing
8:30 arrive at work early. work work work
12:30 Head to the apple star to pick up my new Iphone4s!! Yippeee!
5:00 leave work and race home
5:30 drive to the airport
6:55 take off to az!
8:20 arrive in az!

Let’s hope everything goes smoothly. Fingers crossed for a fun weekend!!!

P.S. I don’t know if I’ll end up seeing MY boy. I’m sure I will… which makes me very nervous because we haven’t spoken in 2 or 3 months? Stupid. I’m nervous. The end. 🙂

Single Girl Story #10

I joined one of those free dating websites. I felt I really needed to start putting myself out there, even if it’s at a pathetic attempt at online dating. I’ve met so far about 3 guys with potential. And by met I mean we’ve sent messages back and forth online. I have yet to meet any of them face to face. One guy tried to pretend he was spontaneous and could just message me any time of the day when he wanted to meet for coffee. Well I am not spontaneous, ESPECIALLY when it comes to dating. I need to know the date time and place of a date at least a week before. This is due to the fact of how much I hate going on dates and I feel a week fully prepares me to go through with it.

I was super into this website for about 2 weeks? Then life got busy and I couldnt keep up with the messages and the “so and so is checking you out right now!” I just logged in after about a week and a half of avoiding it and here were just a handful of messages I received:

“I read your profile and noticed something that I can’t say about many girls on this website, you actually have a personality. Strike that and I’ll take it one step further, you actually have a pulse.”

“A couple questions for you:
1. If you were a cat, what would your cat name be?
2. In your opinion, which type of cookie is the most delicious of all cookies?”

“…By the way regarding laughter I firmly concur, humor is essential, now this is just my theory but I’ve always believed laughter is the secret key too life. Hear me out, life in itself can be fairly dull at times, essentially black and white but its laughter which brings that necessary bit of color too the forefront. E.G – Laughter would be the peprika on already delicious deviled egg!!! lol Hope you enjoyed my colorful analogy!! I must admit I’m quite the colorful character, but in all honesty im just a silly , goofy , fun loving , kind hearted lad!! :)”

Off To San Francisco!

Flying to SF tomorrow to watch my friends Louize and Susan run the SF Nike Women’s marathon! So proud of both of them! It’s going to be a nice weekend out of LA and straight into another big city.

I adore SF. At first I thought it was too crowded and too hectic for me but the more I visit, the more I absolutely love that city. I’m going to try to update here and there from my blackberry about the trip.
